When considering what gift to give, the idea is to consider their lifestyle, any recent life changes, and personal interest. For example, what were they planning to buy for themselves? Is there anything they’ve been wanting to do for a long time and haven’t had the time for?

In my case, my father was a field worker until he retired, so I would be more likely to donate to a cause related to immigrant rights and the struggles of farm working communities.
